When it comes to micellar water, I am not that difficult. In the end, I just want a cheap and gentle face cleanser. In France, you can buy micellar lotions in supermarkets (with brands such as L’Oréal, Garnier…) and in what we call “parapharmacies” (the place to buy Biodermma, Vichy, La Roche-Posay… and Avène products).
Usually, brands that are sold in parapharmacies (or “para”) are more expensive than the ones available in supermarkets, so I would buy micellar waters from para only if they have a special effect which is unavailable in drugstore products.
Unfortunately, it is not the case for this Avène micellar lotion cleanser. That’s a good product that removes dirt and sebum quickly – and softly. But I don’t see any difference between this lotion and any cheaper alternatives from the drugstore. So there is no point buying this product from Avène when I can easily find an alternative which is 30% less expensive.
Just bare in mind that I have an oily skin, which is not sensitive nor reactive. Maybe a sensitive skin would prefer the Avène micellar lotion…
