When I read this morning that Vichy is one of the first parapharmacy brand in France, I was very surprised! Of course, I know it, I tried a few products from its Normaderm range… but I had no idea that it is more popular than Avène, Caudalie, Bioderma,…
To celebrate this nomination, I want to talk to you about my purifying astringent toner from the Normaderm collection. It’s a product specially designed for oily skin and it’s available in the UK at Boots for £11 the 200mL bottle (instead of 8 euros in France… way less expensive!).
Like some other oily skin lotions, this product contains a lot of alcohol. It’s used here to kill the bacteria that induces acne spots… but as I told you in my beauty routine post, alcohol is not good for skin, as it induces dehydration. This lack of water will sensitize the skin and increase sebum production, that leads to… more blemishes! A little bit counterproductive, don’t you think?
Anyway, this product is easy to use, does not leave my skin sticky and prepare the skin for the real skin care (moisturizer). So I will not say that you should avoid it, just that you’d better apply it let’s say not more than one week per month (tips for girls: maybe during your periods, as spots are numerous at this time). The bonus point is that your bottle will last longer: you will have more money to spend on other things and you can definitely wait to visit France to buy it for less!
My review: (3 / 5)
